Little Miss Sunshine

One of my favourite movies is Little Miss Sunshine which was a film festival movie. I've noticed something about myself and my friends, the fact that we all really love Film Festival movies. Everybody else should start watching film festival movies like Little Miss Sunshine, Dreamland, Half Nelson, or Water because they are very good movies, the content is so good. In general film festival movies are more about content then how many things can explode in an hour and a half.

Little Miss Sunshine is about a family of six that set off on in their VW van to get to the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pagent. The youngest is Olive who is an aspiring beauty queen of the age of seven, Dwayne the teenage son (played by Paul Dano) reads Nietzsche and has taken a vow of silence until he is accepted into the air force academy to fly jets, Frank (Steve Carrell) is the suicidal brother who failed in killing himself and is forced to live with his sister Sheryl. Sheryl (Toni Colleti) is supporting the entire family as her husband Richard (Greg Kinnear) is trying to become a famous self-motivational speaker however he is failing. And finally there is academy award winning Alan Arkin playing the grandfather who is a war veteran and has been kicked out of the last retirement home he was in. The entire eccentric six head out on an adventure........

This movie is extremely good, it is powerful and extremely funny. It also has some serious realizaions of life: "You know what? Fuck beauty contests. Life is one fucking beauty contest after another. School, then college, then work... Fuck that. And fuck the Air Force Academy. If I want to fly, I'll find a way to fly. You do what you love, and fuck the rest."

I think this is true which is why everybody should either buy or rent or just even watch one of the best movies I have ever seen.

The Bottom Line: Life is one huge beauty pagent.... do what you love.

The Sims

I like the game the Sims, if you don't know what it is I will explain the game to you. It is a game created by Electronic Arts and was originally released for the computer but now has gone on to other game consuls for example it is now available on xbox. It's subtitle is "The people simulator from the Creator of Sim City," and basically you just control families as they live, buy houses, have kids and essentially keep your sims happy. You have the ability to control everything that happens in the sims life, from when they sleep to what career they have... This got me thinking about our reality..... And I find it really crazy to think that the world or the reality in which we think is our own reality that we ourselves control may just be a huge Sims game. For example the information that I am writing could just be controlled by somebody else, and I have no option about writing this right now... I have to because I am controlled by somebody else...

The Bottome Line: Perhaps we are all just Sims?

P!nk's newest album "I'm not Dead" has become semi-popular with singles of her songs "stupid girls", "who knew?" and her most recent single "U & Ur Hand". These three songs are really good songs however the rest of the remaining eleven songs are really well written. Songs about dealing with everything from being hated in your family to the aftermath of being raped. P!nk's first single "stupid girls" got some noticed by the lyrics of the song, how teenage girls and their idols are essentially idiots. This song was really good, however her song "Dear Mr. President" featuring the Indigo Girls is also a song that is noteworthy and one that should be getting noticed more...

I was reading about the album I'm not dead and there were a lot of posts about how awful P!nk was because she was saying these bad things about President George W. Bush! I think this is awful, these people the same people who i am supposing critizied the Dixie Chicks are ignorant people living in a bubble of happiness and ignorance. I really hate it when an artist or any person that matter states a political opinion just to be shut down by somebody else who has no idea what is going on in the world. To support George W. Bush and critize Pink and the Indigo girls for writing this song is awful? Are you kidding me, I think they have every right and should write about these things that are plaguing the world right now... Why would somebody support a man who allows torture to continue in Guantánamo Bay without the supposed/accused terrorists not having a trial? Is this fair?

Honestly, anybody should have express their opinions... why should people who ask imporant questions be critized, for example the Dixie Chicks. Album's burned, death threats made and the band being boycotted because they didn't think the war in Afghanistan was right!

The bottom line: Pink, the Indigo Girls, the Dixie Chicks and everybody should question the authority in charge to find out more, instead of being ignorant.

COME ON EMMA WATSON!

I love Harry Potter, as lame as people might say Harry Potter is, I absolutely love the books and the movies. I love the books a lot more than the movies however I do enjoy the movies! This is a rant of Harry Potter outrage! I AM SO OUTRAGED that Miss Emma Watson who plays Hermione in the current four Harry Potter film has not yet signed her contract to play Hermione in the remaining final two films.. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, all because of one little snitch (enjoy the harry potter reference). Emma Watson wants no longer to be part of the harry potter craze because she is referenced everywhere she goes as "that girl from Harry Potter"!! How outrageous is this, I'll tell you how outrageous this is... IT IS COMPLETELY OUTRAGEOUS! I think that Watson should have some loyalty to the franchise that got her into acting, as awful as it would be to go to work and the franchise that she when interviewed claims she loves so much and the movies that have made her reknown and wealthy. Can she not make up her mind? I will make up her mind for her, take the $4.5 million offered to you and just make the films then you can go and do anything you want, if that is acting great if not whatever I no longer care because you, Emma Watson have nothing no longer to do with Harry Potter. Loyalty is important seeing as there are only two movies left Emma Watson should just except the large sum of cash that she is being offered and suck it up, if Emma Watson does quit the Harry Potter movies it will be confussing to see a new actress portraying her..... Emma Watson, be loyal and do the right thing. COME ON! No matter what happens,
